Artist Statement

       I make art because of the feeling it gives me. Just knowing that at one point in time my canvas was blank and I created the painting is the most wonderful feeling in the world. My art helps me share my emotions, and lets people see the world through my eyes. Most of my work comes from sudden bursts of inspiration from things that catch my eye. I paint subjects and themes that are representative of my personality. If I have a strong feeling or emotional tie to something, I will paint it. I mainly work with oil paint. It is my favorite medium because of the wonderful flow and the many color possibilities that can be achieved. I love the feel of the brush in my hands and the entire process that goes into an oil painting.
